Wasey Aeroplanes are specialist
manufacturers of metal fittings and a wheel braking system for Lynn
William’s Staaken Z21 and Z21A Flitzer home built biplanes.
Ian Wasey started making Flitzer fittings
to assist his son, Rupert to build his award winning G-ERIW by using the
latest technologies and building bespoke tooling to reduce the laborious
task of hand cutting all the steel components. The time savings compared to traditional
methods of manufacture coupled with the high precision of each component
saved hundreds of hours of work for Rupert and very soon other Flitzer
builders wanted to incorporate Ian’s fitting in their Flitzer projects.
Now Ian has a thriving cottage industry
producing complete fitting kits and his own LAA approved wheel braking
system for Flitzer builders all over the world, helping them to realise
their projects in considerably less time.
